The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) is a global code of conduct adopted by the United Nations, comprising 17 global goals and 169 targets for sustainable development. The United Nations Member States are committed to achieving this goal by 2030, as the “17 Goals to Transform the World.” Building on the MDGs adopted by the United Nations in 2000 Emerging areas such as climate change and economic inequality are included as priorities.
CTIA is promoting business activities to achieve the SDGs stipulated by the United Nations. Specifically, we are currently spotlighting four of the 17 goals listed in the SDGs: “Affordable and clean energy” “Industry, innovation, infrastructure” “Sustainable cities and communities” and “Responsible consumption, production”. The software solution “TaaS” can be used to form the basis of various industries as well as to understand businesses more easily and to allow details to be shared by seamlessly connecting all industries across borders.
Our goal is not only to build a sustainable industrial foundation. We also intend to provide fair access to services for all 7.5 billion people in the world from the platform of “TaaS”, We recognize the concepts that are common to all 17 guidelines of the SDGs and the resources needed to make them achievable. We will continue to contribute to the development of companies and societies that aim to achieve sustainability development together.
For production management within conventional companies, most of the methods for work reporting, such as the management of warehousing, stocking, processing and shipping of materials, are carried out in the form of documents. This is inefficient because of the risk of lost documents or unnecessary confirmation time.
It is possible to streamline the production management, which lowers risk of lost documents and also could save time and effort on recording and confirmation time, by using “TaaS” to solve this problem by digitally recording within the warehousing, stocking, processing and shipping processes. In the event of a problem with the quality, such as a defective work process or product, the details of the production work are recorded in “TaaS”, so problems can be quickly identified and the problem can be easily resolved.
Supply Chain Management
The supply chain represents the entire flow from the procurement of raw materials and parts for products to the consumption. The problem of current supply chain management is that the information between organizations is divided. Therefore, the adjustment of the supply-demand balance cannot be consistently managed among the organizations and large losses in such areas as excessive inventory management and waste generation will occur.
TaaS manages the supply and demand balance of such an unbalanced market all on one platform; provides a real-time visualization of shared information from upstream to downstream organizations and departments; and provides a UX (user experience) that is distinct from existing SCM systems.
In the past, it was necessary for companies to offer real estate and securities owned by companies when receiving loans. However, it was almost impossible for small and medium-sized enterprises and startups without real estate or securities to get loans. As a solution to this situation, the procurement methods of inventory finance are to use the current assets, such as inventory and accounts receivable, to function as collateral to apply for and receive loans. But this approach to inventory finance also has some problems.
Banks can make a capital investment decision based only on the weekly, monthly, and annual trial balances submitted by the lender, and the lender receives more information from financial institutions after lending. There are issues such as an increase in the burden on the workers involved in the process due to the obligations to report promptly.
By introducing TaaS to solve this problem, all records and information, including trial balances, will be recorded in TaaS, and it will be possible to submit a wider range of information, increasing the likelihood of investment in collateral conformity assessment can do.
The problem of conventional trade is that details regarding the place of origin, quality, producer, distribution, etc. cannot easily be confirmed, and consumers can receive only information on purchased products which is provided by sellers.
Through the use of TaaS, it is possible for consumers to confirm all relevant information (such as origin, producer, and distribution process) up until the purchase of products, which would then promote the safety and security of consumers.
It is possible to use TaaS to trace the causes of damage to or deterioration of the products. Even in trade operations where it is important to check information such as the place of origin, it is possible to reduce the time and effort required to check the information, thus shortening the time required for import/export operations.
Carbon offset is a general term for the activities which contribute to environmental improvement; which enable companies to create clean energy business practices; and directly or indirectly reduce greenhouse gases such as CO2 emitted in our lives. Japanese companies are not familiar with carbon offset initiatives, and the problem is that they are not making full use of the current system.
One of the possible reasons is that complicated document exchange, the time span from application to approval, and the design of the program is clearly inconvenient from the user’s point of view.
CTIA is committed to creating new market opportunities for carbon offset based on TaaS, and provides solutions that help companies achieve their CSR and SDGs goals.
Future City Planning
The key to promoting urbanization in the future is whether we are able to build a sustainable social infrastructure. Human beings have been evolving from the stages of “hunting society” to “agricultural society”, then to “industrial society”, and now to “information society.” But while things and information became available and people’s desires were satisfied, the distortions of the global environment and human relationships have been sacrificed and we now need to reset our social structure to develop it for future generations.
We should now take advantage of TaaS, which allows us to accurately manage the movement of all things and people. In order to bolster the construction of a social infrastructure that supports the creation of towns and local areas up to and including the development of larger cities, we will help to solve problems affecting each region and local government.
